Important Course Information
The Caribe Yoga Academy offers the unique opportunity to complete your Advanced Level Yoga Teacher Training in an immersive, one-of-a-kind setting in the beautiful jungles of the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.
Program cost includes three incredibly delicious and healthy meals per day (with gluten free or vegan options) and lodging in our shared, rustic jungle cabins (with private and double upgrade options). Start your journey now!
This course has four half days off and three full days off through your 33-day experience (32 nights of accommodation are included). If you require more time to explore the area, please book additional days to stay in Puerto Viejo. The schedule is very intense and there is not a lot of free time built into our intensive schedule for sightseeing. This is a very rigorous course of study and we have very high expectations of our students and colleagues.
All of our immersion courses start at 3 p.m. on the first scheduled day of the program (check-in day). All immersion trainings end at 11 a.m. on the last scheduled date of the program (check-out day). Please schedule your transportation accordingly. Puerto Viejo, the South Caribbean town is 4-6 hours away from the main international airport (SJO) in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Schedule your flights in a way that you will not miss portions of the course.
This is an extremely rigorous and internationally well-respected program with a very high educational standard. If you are seeking a light or recreational retreat experience, this is NOT the program for you.

With a strong focus on encouraging experiential learning, deep Self-Study and lots of time to practice the offered skills, students will dive into personal areas of special interest according to what is best for their own Ayurvedic constitution. Caribe Yoga Academy students receive 30-50 hours of instruction above and beyond the Yoga Alliance Standard for the Advanced Level certification.
The 300-hour Caribe Yoga Academy advanced-level training gives you the skills you need to build on to your existing foundation and carve out a place for yourself in the wellness field as a person with deep experience and knowledge.
What You’ll Learn
The curriculum for our 300-Hour Advanced Level Programming goes 50 contact hours above the Yoga Alliance standard making Caribe Yoga Academy graduates amongst the world’s most well-prepared advanced-level teachers!

- Module #5 TriDosha: A Final Product, Fusion of the 5 Elements & the 3 Doshas, Practicing for Balance & Wholeness, Final Practicums & Teaching Practice

What’s Not Included
We’ve found that allowing our students to plan certain things like travel and other activities helps each person to find the balance between fun and study. Below is what’s NOT included in your booking.
- Your flight in and out of Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO)
- Any meals not taken as part of your YTT meal plan at AmaSer
- Extra nights at AmaSer before or after your scheduled program dates (you can book those at bookings@amasercr.com)
- Any additional activities not listed above
- Travelers insurance (required by CR health standards)
- Any Covid testing expenses for inbound or outbound travel.

Cancellation Policy
- All reservations for Advanced Level Courses require a deposit of $750 USD for enrollment
- The deposit is non-refundable within 3 months of the start date.
- If you chose to cancel your reservation/booking, we are unable to process refunds for any reason within 3 months of arrival.
- The remainder of the cost of the course you have chosen is due 30 days before the course start date.
- In the unusual occasion where we are unable to host the course or Caribe Yoga Academy makes the decision to cancel your course, your deposit and any other course fees paid to Caribe Yoga Academy will be refunded to you in a timely manner.
Why You Should Book Directly with Caribe Yoga Academy
We’re a boutique Yoga Academy and many of our students come from international locations around the world. We don’t use a fancy booking system, and though you may have seen us on some of the popular booking sites (BookYogaRetreats and RetreatNetwork) we prefer instead that you book with us directly.
Why we use our own reservation system:
- Reservation systems are costly and take a lot of time to maintain (we prefer to focus on providing the very best, authentic and tranquil learning environment for our students)
- Booking Sites take a large fee from our customers AND our academy (sometimes as much as 30% goes to the site… and not to our school).

- Your deposit goes immediately to your benefit (instead of fees for an outside booking site)
